Garlic Portobello mushrooms on toast

Finely chop the garlic clove. Thickly slice the Portobello mushrooms. Finely chop the thyme leaves. Grate the Bavarian smoked cheese.


  1. 1 Fry the mushrooms in a hot pan with the olive oil for 2 minutes, stirring every so often.
  2. 2 Add the garlic clove and thyme leaves, and cook for a further 1-2 minutes.
  3. 3 Cut the ciabatta in half lengthways, then cut each piece into two and lightly toast.
  4. 4 Divide the cheese over the top of the hot toasted bread so it starts to melt, then top with the mushrooms and any juices from the pan.
