Preparation
Cut the Turkish figs into quarters.
Method
- 1 Put the figs in a frying pan with the white balsamic vinegar, sugar, star anise and water. Cook gently, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
- 2 Bring to the boil, then simmer for 15 minutes or until the figs have softened. Leave to cool.
- 3 Serve with cheese and crackers, as pictured.

Could not get fresh figs so used tinned , also used ordinary balsamic ,, it has cooked well and tastes ok , will see when it has sat in kindle jar for a couple of days , but it was so easy to put together
