Fresh fruit and lemon custard tarts

Use any fresh fruit your child likes, singly or in combination. This is a perfect opportunity to get your child chopping soft fruit with a blunt knife; it really doesn’t matter if the finished tarts look a bit messy – that’s half the fun!

  1. 1 In a small bowl, combine the lemon curd and custard. Fill the tartlet cases with scant, half-teaspoons of this mixture. Don’t overfill or it will spill over when the fruit is added.
  2. 2 Decorate (or let your child decorate) the tarts with fresh fruit. Serve soon after, while the fruit is still freshly chopped.
