Balsamic strawberries with fresh basil and vanilla ice cream

Preparation

Tear into small pieces the basil leaves. Use extra to garnish, but hull, and half or quarter, the strawberries.

Method

  1. 1 Thirty minutes to an hour before serving, combine the balsamic vinegar, sugar, pepper and basil in a bowl.
  2. 2 Add the strawberries and mix well.
  3. 3 Set aside at room temperature to marinate.
  4. 4 To serve, divide the strawberries among 4 small bowls.
  5. 5 Top each with a scoop of ice cream and some basil leaves to garnish.
